The Unfinished-Room Problem and How Drapery Solves It
The Problem: A room can feel hard and unfinished with only blinds or shades on the windows — and the tall, dramatic great-room windows of a Lake Norman home can feel especially bare and echoey. Hard treatments alone rarely deliver the softness, warmth, and layered light control a beautiful lake home deserves — especially against the bright afternoon sun off the water.
The Solution: Custom drapery solves both the look and the function. Layering drapes over your shades adds depth, sound dampening, and an extra layer of control over the bright lake sun, while giving the room a finished, sophisticated look and framing your view with elegance. Whether framing a two-story great-room window or softening a bedroom, our drapes are tailored to your exact windows from thousands of premium fabrics — with motorized tracks for large or hard-to-reach windows. Financing available.

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Drapery Around Lake Norman
Does drapery help with the bright lake sun?
Yes. Lined and light-filtering drapery softens the harsh afternoon sun off the water and cuts glare, while blackout linings keep bedrooms dark and cool. Layered over shades, drapery adds depth, sound dampening, and extra light and heat control.
Is drapery a good fit for tall great-room windows?
Absolutely — custom full-length drapery frames the tall, dramatic two-story windows of a Lake Norman home beautifully, and motorized tracks make those hard-to-reach panels effortless.
We tailor every panel to your exact windows.
Can I layer drapery over shades?
Yes — it’s one of our most-requested looks. Many Lake Norman homeowners layer room-darkening drapery over solar or honeycomb shades for better sleep, insulation, and a finished, designer feel.
